Since 2007 the U.K has lost nearly 7000 pubs.
The financial crisis of 2008, the smoking ban introduced in 2007, and a decrease in public drinking are commonly credited as being leading factors in the decline of the industry. Nottingham has many pubs, now closed or converted, that demonstrate the slow death the business is facing across the country.
